At Platinum Removals Bondi, we are all about keeping removals easy for you and that means that we are quite experienced with whatever happens when you move. Including understanding how hard it is to say goodbye to old friends. When the Removals Day draws near, there’s not one person we know who won’t feel a rush of emotions about leaving behind the place that they’ve stayed at. Whether for a few months or for a few years, there is a lot of nostalgia attached to a home. The restaurants around the corner, the sights and sounds out the window and of course, your friends and neighbours that live in the same city.
And the further your move away, the more difficult it may seem to keep in touch with these friends and neighbours and coupled with the tonnes of things that you need to handle and take care of once you’ve reached your new home – getting settled into your home and putting things in their right place, working out new schedules and work responsibilities, finding out where all your amenities are and etcetera, it might seem nearly impossible to take the time to keep in touch with them after all!
But in this day and age where we have technology and digitalised equipment at our fingertips, it really should not have to be this hard!
There is Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media accounts, all sorts of chat messengers and not to mention email! While the traditional methods of making phone calls and handwriting letters are available, we are blessed to have so many options when it comes to real-time communications with our friends. And with these programmes, in the initial days, at least you have a platform to update people how you are doing even if you can’t necessarily get in contact with them just yet.
Our postal services have also vastly improved and mail forwarding services are easily arranged for so that there is a seamless transit of your mail when you move. All you need to do is get in touch with them and inform them of your date of moving in Sydney so that your important mail can be sent to the right place!
At the same time, if you don’t stay too far away from your old home, why not take a weekend drive back and spend some time with your friends for a coffee weekend. Even if you have moved far away, a holiday back to your old haunts might not be such a bad idea either! Reunions can always be fun, especially when you are able to rope your friends in to visit some of your most favourite hang outs!
Whichever way you decide to take to keep in touch with your friends, like any relationship requires work to blossom, it’s clear to see that just a little bit of effort is needed in order to keep these channels of friendship open!
